About us

The quest to find a better way to pack lunches for my family began when my children started going to school. As a school lunch volunteer, I quickly realized how much garbage the students were generating at each meal. How could this be happening in a school that wanted to teach kids to be eco-conscious

Unfortunately, here in North America we do not have a strong culture of bringing our own lunch. Most items are over packaged and over-processed, purchased in individually wrapped portions, a practice that is wasteful and not environmentally friendly. The other alternative is to pack lunch items into ziplock style bags, the result is a squished and unappetizing lunch!

Being half Japanese, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Japan where a strong “Bring Your Own Lunch” culture has encouraged a growing market for many new and innovative products. On our trips we found well designed, attractive and eco-smart lunch gear products that we integrated into our lifestyle. Soon our family and friends were asking us to bring some of these products back for them too - and so the idea of offering eco-smart, fashion-forward lunch gear for the whole family was born!

Encouraging our clients to make better choices concerning Out-of-Home & On-the-Go meals. Our goal is to support the growing number of people that want to prepare healthy lunches and snacks, and who also wish to minimize their consumption of single use plastic packaging. By incorporating smart portion control with everyday ease of use, our products lead to these positive lifestyle changes. Let’s agree that eating a soggy salad out of a big plastic tub that you carried to work in a recycled shopping bag is not exactly appealing, no matter how healthy it might be. This negative image prevents many people from trying something better. We offer a positive refresh to that outdated perception.

The lunch gear we feature is design drive, thought out for ease of use and eco-friendliness. Passionate about durability, practicality and design, we modernized the “Bento Lifestyle” into a curated line of stylish bags, bottles, boxes and accessories. The variety of sizes, materials & colours we offer makes it simple for children, teens or working parents to now combine healthy eating and style.

Trade the power lunch for the breezy park bench where you can relax and re-energize. Bringing your own lunches can now be economical, healthy, and fun. Just don’t be surprised when your friends and co-workers ask where you found your great lunch gear!

Nobuko Nadeau, Founder - Born in B.C, raised in Montreal, Nobuko is passionate about the environment and design. Having spent time in Japan, Nobuko discovered the Japanese bento box. How could it be that millions of individuals in Japan take their lunch to work in beautifully designed, compact and practical lunch boxes and in North America we still put our everyday meals in Ziploc bags? She soon realized there would be a market for beautifully designed, professional looking products for food on-the-go.
