Known for their immaculate attention to detail and their unrelating dedication to tradition, the denim produced at Kaihara Mill comes with decades of history in both heritage Americana and traditional Japanese dyeing techniques. This knowledge—combined with innovative technologies and patented machines designed exclusively by themselves—informs Kaihara Mills in every step of the manufacturing process, from spinning to dyeing to weaving and, finally, the finishing of the bulk denim fabric.
Today, Kaihara's reputation as Japan’s national brand, is the largest supplier of denim in Japan, and one of the most recognizable names in denim production in the world. It’s unique texture generates deep indigo color and is a must- have for admirers of vintage jeans.
Furoshiki handles are made with genuine tanned leather from Tochigi Leather Co.
The vegetable tanned leather is both solid and durable; the more you use the leather, the more charm it displays. In order to highlight the texture of this special leather, Tochigi dyes it using natural vegetable colors (natural vegetable extracts) and intentionally keeps the leather’s natural character including wrinkles and ripples.
D-rings used for this type of handles are made with zinc casting then plated with silver.
