The Story Behind the Brand
KeepCup, Australian makers of the world's first barista standard reusable cup encourages the use of reusable cups.
KeepCup founders started with a coffee shop and were shocked at how many disposable cups they were trashing on a daily basis.
Since their inception in June 2009 they have sold over eight million KeepCups. Their users have diverted billions of disposable cups from landfill.
KeepCup offers several tempered glass standard barista size cups as well as their KeepCup Brew - Cork edition, featuring sustainably-sourced natural cork.
KeepCup has also come out with the new LongPlay. The LongPlay adds a removable Tritan booster to their glass cup to create a twin wall vessel. The booster increases durability, retains heat and protects touch. For hot drinks LongPlay will improve heat retention and insulate your hand from heat, and for ice drinks, keep them cold longer and prevent condensation.
KeepCup is also less plastic. Disposable cups are lined with polyethylene and have a polystyrene lid, so there is enough plastic in 28 disposable cups to make one small KeepCup. KeepCup thinks of themselves as a campaign supported by a product, where the best reusable is the one you use.
KeepCup is from Australia with love, however the environmental footprint of their products is really important to them, so they are committed to local manufacture. Sustainability is linked to usability and quality and underpins the ethos of the business.
KeepCups mission is to encourage the use of reusable cups. They believe - Many small acts will make a phenomenal difference.
