The company KAMAWANU was established in 1990 and is based in Tokyo, Japan. They are specialized in using the traditional chusen method of dyeing. This technique is where the dye is absorbed into the fabric so you can see the pattern on both sides, making the cloth reversible.

The "CHUSEN" manual hand-dyeing technique, dates back to the Meiji Period more then 100 years ago. It is still used by today's highly skilled craftspeople with many years of experience who value its refined textures and visual qualities.
