One of the fun things I love about Japan is its distinctive seasons. Consideration for the seasons is second nature in Japan and forms an important roll in the Japanese culture. There is great emphasis in the markets and shops on recognizing and exhibiting seasonal fashions, seasonal foods, and seasonal goods. Special season-only goods abound and are eagerly anticipated throughout the year.
Nothing is overlooked; everything from alcohol, snacks, cakes, beauty products, soft drinks, and even bento lunches offered at train stations & supermarkets, etc. can be found. Food or drinks are often infused with a seasonal ingredients or flavour. They are all ‘limited goods’ on sale for just a short period of time! Whatever the season you visit Japan, it’s always fun to try something that was intended to be enjoyed because of the time of the year.
